Two global competitions for start-ups are going to take place on 19.10. 2016 at the Skopje Fair, during TEHNOMA and MAKINOVA. The competitions will be organized by NCDIEL (National Center for Development of Innovation and Entrepreneurial Learning) and Macedonia 2025, and will announce the beginning of the Macedonia2025 Summit. The event is additionally supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Macedonia, Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Macedonia, The City of Skopje, Business Start-up Center at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University Ss Cyril and Methodius, Fund for innovations and technology development, etc.

 

More about the competition Get in the Ring 2016 (GITR2016-Macedonia)

 

During the last several years the Get in the Ring event turned from local event for pitching business ideas into a global start-up competition organized by more than 130 partner organizations. This year, the fifth event will attract finalists from more than 100 countries (more info on: https://getinthering.co/). All start-ups not older than 5 years, who have an innovative idea or who are willing to develop their business further and are looking for investors, are eligible for the GITR2016-Macedonia competition. Get in the Ring is famous by its unique pitching style – two start-ups literally face each other in a boxing ring.

The winner will be given a chance to pitch at the global finals (New York or Singaporeit has not been decided yet!!!). The flight tickets to the global final will be covered by the organizers. Also, more awards for the winners will be provided by the sponsors…

 

More about the competition Startup Europe Awards 2016

The competition Startup Europe Awards 2016, which is organized by Finnova in collaboration with Startup Europe, selects and awards the local entrepreneurs who are the driving force in the entrepreneurial culture in Europe (http://startupeuropeawards.com/). The competition contributes to the development of an integrated European ecosystem that connects local entrepreneurial ecosystems in the European start-up continent.

Proposals coming from startups in the following areas will be welcome: Environment, Social, ICTs, Energy, Tourism, Cities, Creative industries and Water.

The awarded entrepreneurs will receive a winners’ package consisting of:

  • Participation in the European final and access to the Awards Ceremony to be held in the facilities of the European Commission.
  • Mentoring programme in Brussels (about European funds, training, visibility, lobbying, etc.) to develop their project making it more viable at European level
  • An elevator-pitch video for each of the awarded startups recorded by Finnova. To help expand the visibility of the entrepreneurs, SEUA will also create a blog in which news will be published and in which the startups will have the possibility of posting news and events related to their activities such as promotional meetings, investment sessions, announcements of events, and so on.
